Screening for Plagiarism Policy

Ephemeris Administrativa Commercialis (EAC) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes plagiarism screening before being considered for peer review.

All submissions are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software during the initial editorial assessment. This process aims to identify textual similarities, overlapping content, and potential violations of publication ethics, ensuring that only original and ethically compliant manuscripts proceed to the peer-review stage.

The journal applies a maximum similarity index of 20%, excluding:

  • Reference lists;
  • Properly quoted and cited materials;
  • Standard academic terminology and commonly used scholarly expressions;
  • Titles, author affiliations, and other non-substantive elements.

A similarity index below 20% does not automatically guarantee acceptance. The Editorial Board evaluates the nature, context, and extent of any detected similarities to determine whether they represent appropriate scholarly citation practices or potential ethical concerns.

Manuscripts may be rejected immediately if evidence is found of:

  • Plagiarism;
  • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication;
  • Data fabrication or falsification;
  • Image, figure, or document manipulation;
  • Citation manipulation;
  • Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials; or
  • Any other form of research or publication misconduct.

Where minor and unintentional textual similarities are identified, authors may be invited to revise their manuscripts before the peer-review process begins. However, manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism or serious ethical violations will be rejected without further editorial consideration.

Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality of their work, properly acknowledging all sources, and complying with internationally recognized standards of research and publication ethics.

If plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are discovered after publication, Ephemeris Administrativa Commercialis (EAC) reserves the right to take appropriate editorial action, including the publication of corrections, expressions of concern, article retractions, or article removal, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Through the implementation of this plagiarism screening policy, Ephemeris Administrativa Commercialis (EAC) seeks to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record, promote responsible research practices, and ensure that every published article represents an original, credible, and meaningful contribution to the advancement of knowledge in business administration, management, organizational studies, entrepreneurship, and commercial sciences.
