Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive epidemiological investigation into the global spatiotemporal trajectories, demographic vulnerabilities, and intervention paradigms associated with depressive and anxiety disorders using World Health Organization Open Health Data. Applying joinpoint regression modeling, age standardized rate comparisons, and multivariable linear mixed models across international regional classifications, the empirical findings demonstrate a continuous, non linear escalation in internalizing morbidity over recent decades. Younger demographics, particularly adolescents and young adults, exhibit acute vulnerability driven by digital connectivity, academic pressures, and societal shocks, while adult cohorts face compounding risks from chronic somatic comorbidities, environmental pollution, and gender disparities. Although gold standard psychological and pharmacological interventions demonstrate high therapeutic efficacy, profound structural bottlenecks, resource allocation deficits, and regional care inequities persist worldwide. Leveraging advanced computational analytics and digital health technologies offers scalable opportunities to optimize psychiatric surveillance and diagnostic screening. Ultimately, these results underscore the urgent necessity for coordinated international health governance, equitable resource distribution, and proactive policy frameworks to mitigate the expanding global burden of psychiatric disorders.
